life has so many surprises for us if we allow things to unfold, not force it.

TELL US ABOUT YOU.

I’m Anna, born and raised in Poland, moved to the US in my early 20s. I live in Brooklyn with my dog, Frankie. I was actually pretty quiet before I moved to NYC. The new culture shaped me into who I am now.

My career has been in startups scaling fast and my role was to build the people function for an employee-centric organization. Since I was one of the first employees, I have been exposed to many aspects of the business, from operations to technology, from marketing to business development.

One of the advantages in my role was I knew people, they knew me, we trusted each other and had a common goal to make the company successful as one unified team. I am currently helping companies to adopt AI without losing their humanity.

2

how does the cover photo capture who you are?

This photo captures how similar me and my mom looked.

Also it’s taken in one of my favorite places I have visited, Assisi, Umbria.

I traveled alone with my dog by train, no car, and this was the day when a host I stayed with deep in Umbria hired a local to take me to Assisi.

I got a private tour of Umbria with a musician driving in a mini Fiat with no AC but knowing all the cool places.

It reminded me that life has so many surprises for us if we allow things to unfold, not force it.

3

In one sentence, what are you trying to change?

I don’t like the word ‘change.’ If anything, I am trying to align myself with others, meet them where they are.

4

What did you notice was broken that made you start writing?

I have been journaling since 2018. Lately my practice has shifted to voice-recording my thoughts.

What I noticed in the business writing I was finding were overly polished or performative pieces.

I decided I’d write in a chain of thought, for people who prefer more personal and observational writing.

5

If you could manifest a brighter tomorrow, what would change by 2030?

Less division and violence and more peace.

Less running, more walking.

Less materialistic, more minimalistic.

Less hustle culture, more knowing who you are as a person.

How would your closest friends describe you?

Good question. I once ran this experiment on them and asked directly. They said ninety percent of the time they enjoy spending time with me.

there is that ten percent where I might need to be alone, which I think was a compliment!

7

What’s a challenge that changed how you see the world?

Being exposed to different realities of life, good and bad.

Seeing people struggle mentally, not by limited access to resources but by sabotaging their own existence.

8

What are you most proud of right now?

Being completely unapologetic for who I am.

Choosing my own path, staying in the unknown and being okay with it.

I am not hustling to make my solo practice a replacement for my job. I like to be invited to the rooms rather than convince someone to work with me. It will take a longer path but that is what I am choosing now.

9

On hard days, what kind of signal from your readers keeps you going?

Showing up, seeing that people are vulnerable and honest, equally dealing with similar hurdles.

The truth and ridiculousness of our own reality that I am equally laughing at and being annoyed by.
